I have been so amazed by the support and encouragement I have received here on Substack. I began “Oh. About That…” on June 2, about a month and a half ago. I am glad to have found my tribe: the people who want to reclaim our country and build our government into one that works for all of us.

We know there are challenges ahead. I assure everyone this is a marathon and not a sprint. I am not healthy. I’m gonna do my best to work on that, exercising more, eating right, taking medication… but every time I have tried to work anything resembling full-time hours in the past five years I have ended up in the hospital. I am not telling you this for sympathy, but to explain why Porch Thoughts frequency I want to give you, bare minimum, four of those a week. I would prefer at least five, but I will move heaven and earth for four.

Written article frequency will vary a lot depending on type - commentary like open letters to various groups don’t take a lot of research. Other things take more and can take me a few days at a time. I feel a duty to publish regularly for people who subscribe to me. I try to be an honorable person.

I do my best to engage in article comments and messages. While I like making friends and have been blessed with a few at this point (🤟🏻), there are too many scams in the world, and any messaging that has what seems to be obvious red flags will be ignored. I am not healthy enough for romance, especially when my purpose is to encourage a group of thoughtful people to keep courage and reclaim our country from oligarchy. I only have so many spoons, and I need to use them strategically.

As far as what I am trying to build here - a network of committed voters who want to hold their elected representatives to account - the larger you help me build this, the more likely we are to get real attention, which then increases the engagement, then gets more attention…

I didn’t sleep last night (since the death of my husband random insomnia has been a thing), which made me more susceptible to disease flares. I tried to nap in the morning, went and had blood work because of funky liver results, and wanted to get some shopping done. I went to Aldi to get as much as possible but they didn’t have cat food I know my cats would eat and got so sick before I finished Aldi I had to drive home and order Walmart delivery for cat food. 🤦‍♀️

And spent the rest of the afternoon in bed.

Tomorrow I have an article to write, a Porch Thoughts about reasons to participate in Good Trouble Lives On protests Thursday, and maybe republish the Good Trouble Lives On post from earlier to make it easier to find the link to find protests near their locations.

But I really did want to thank all of you. Your comments, engagement, sharing, following, subscribing, all are a great encouragement to me. I feel more alive and useful than I have in a long time!

Thank you, all, for what you share with me. Please - if you came across this as a share from someone else, or just randomly, subscribe for free! If at some point as a free subscriber you think I am worth it, subscribe. My monthly rate is $5/month, and annual is $50. Since I am still figuring out the platform, I couldn’t figure out how to make the price any lower for a paid amount, but free is pretty cheap. 😉
